Rowland S. Howard 05.09.1994 Sydney

Rowland S. Howard is great but underrated guitarist. He played in many bands, including: The Boys Next Door/The Birthday Party, Crime & the City Solution and These Immortal Souls. In 1999 he relased great solo album "Teenage Snuff Film". Rowland S. Howard is famous for his unique style of guitar play - with heavy use of distortion and feedback.
This set is quite different - pure acoustic. Short but sweet. "Hide" and "The Story Goes" are These Immortal Souls songs. "Stupid Grin" was composed by Marie Hoy. "Shut Me Down" is Howard's song. "The Big Sleep" is The Only Ones cover.

Thank you for posting this! I've wanted to hear "Stupid Grin" for such a long time.

Is there any chance you have the '88 set that seems to accompany these tracks on most trading sites?

I have Rowland's set with Hugo Race - 21.12.1988, Melbourne. It's the one you think about?

Yes, that's it! Would you be up for posting that, too? Is there anything I can give you in exchange?

No problem. I gonna post some Polish stuff first, but Howard will be next.

Funny coming across this here again! I taped this at the Metro in Sydney when Howard supported Lydia Lunch's spoken word. Glad to see it getting around.

Still hoping one day to come across a tape of Rowland S Howard on acoustic in 96. He was much more aggressive and quite frankly amazing. Best I ever saw him play was at the Metro supporting The Mark Of Cain and Nitocris. I would love a tape of that gig if it ever would surface.
