Don't Panic, We're From Poland!!! part 31 - Wolverine

Wolverine is side project of Nergal from Behemoth established in 1999. Music is hard rock strongly influenced by Danzig. Now band's status is unclear but after 8 years of silence it's probably dead and cold.
Their only release is "Million Hells" promo from 2000. At that time Wolverine had 8 songs composed but only 3 were recorded. It's shame they never made full LP.

Painkiller 07.05.1995 Carrboro

Painkiller is a project formed in 1991 by John Zorn, Mick Harris and Bill Laswell. Their music is insane and uncompromising mixture of free jazz and grindcore.
Harris departed in 1995 to focus on electronic music. For the 50th birthdays of Zorn, band was reformed with Hamid Drake in place of Harris.
Since then band played some gigs with different drummers. This summer Painkiller played in original line-up.
Did You noticed riff from "Iron Man"?

The Warsaw Uprising began 01.08.1944. It was struggle to liberate capital of Poland, Warsaw from German occupation before Soviets arrive. Despite of heroism of soldiers and civilians, Polish forces were forced to capitulate after 63 days. About 120000 people were killed and 85% of city was destroyed.

The Lounge Lizards Invades Europe!

The Lounge Lizards was one of the most interesting "No Wave" bands. Their music was called fake jazz or punk jazz. Lounge Lizards jazz was melodic but highly energetic and with lots of dissonances.
They done first tour with band Discipline (which later become new incarnation of King Crimson). Band's debut from 1981 "The Lounge Lizards" is one of my favourite albums.
