The Ghastly Ones - A-Haunting We Will Go-Go

Halloween is near so...
The Ghastly Ones invite you to be horrified to the point of sheer panic as they transport you to the darkest part of bone chilling night. Don't be surprised if you find yourself changing from the gentle soul you are to the werewolf, evil space robot or some other monster. Instead just relax and enjoy experience.
The Ghastly Ones is great surf/psychobilly band from Van Nuys, California. Name of the band is inspired by horror movie from sixties. Band's image is definitely spooky although their songs are mostly instrumental.
"A Haunting We Will Go-Go" is their debut. Released in 1998 by Zombie A Go-Go Records - short lived Rob Zombie's label. Sadly this album is now out of print.

Don't Panic, We're From Poland!!! part 8 - Tomasz Budzyński

Tomasz Budzyński is vocalist and leader of Armia. His first band was legendary punk act Siekiera. In 1985 He formed (with Robert Brylewski) punk band Armia. Armia evolved into mixture of punk, metal and progressive rock.

In 2002 Budzyński recorded first solo album "Taniec szkieletów" (Dance of the skeletons) with music influenced by Dead Can Dance. Now He performs with Armia, 2Tm2,3 and as solo artist.

Tomasz Budzyński is also painter. This post is illustrated by some of his paintings (and two photos from that concert).

Budzyński's lyrics are very personal, filled with very unusual metaphors. Most of them are inspired by his memories.

You can check his music. It's solo performance from 2006. Nice audience recording. Setlist includes Budzyński's solo songs and also covers of Armia and Siekiera.

Don't Panic, We're From Poland!!! part 7 - Acid Drinkers

Acid Drinkers is metal band from Poland, established in 1986. They play tongue-in-cheek mixture of thrash and heavy metal.
"High Proof Cosmic Milk" is rather different from rest of their work. Harder and darker than usually. Music is very sludgy, influenced by Kyuss. That was last Acid Drinkers album with original guitarist Litza.
"Proud Mary" is of course Creedence Clearwater Revival cover but with riff from Sepultura's "Roots".

Usually tributes have very varied quality but this is worth of listening. Most of songs are at least good.
