Don't Panic, We're From Poland!!! part 85 - PRL

PRL was a band founded by great guitarist Rafał Kwaśniewski. Earlier he was member of Deuter, Krew, Sstil, Kult, Dezerter, Elektryczne Gitary and Homo Twist. Name PRL is abbreviation of "pierdolenie"(fucking). Band released only two records: "Polski rokendrol" in 1995 and "Zła wiadomość" in 1996. Kwaśniewski wanted to title this album as "Spierdalaj" (fuck off) but lated changed it to "Zła wiadomość" (bad news).
Great, great, catchy songs with with riffs that could make Ray Davies jealous. Later Kwasniewski disapear from the scene. Great loss because he was excellent musician.

You can get "Polski rokendrol from HERE (blog with Polish music)
Short PRL live set from HERE (another fine blog with Polish music - contemporary classical, stuff from OBUH and some weird rarites. Well, I found this album there - Uberthanks)

This is gig of reformed The Stooges. Almost original line-up: Iggy Pop, Ron Asheton, Scott Asheton, Mike Watt, Steve MacKay. Iggy obviousy was in bad mood. He is offending audience by most of the show. At one point he screams "You suck like the bands you like" - nice.

The Ghastly Ones - A-Haunting We Will Go-Go

Halloween is near so...
The Ghastly Ones invite you to be horrified to the point of sheer panic as they transport you to the darkest part of bone chilling night. Don't be surprised if you find yourself changing from the gentle soul you are to the werewolf, evil space robot or some other monster. Instead just relax and enjoy experience.
The Ghastly Ones is great surf/psychobilly band from Van Nuys, California. Name of the band is inspired by horror movie from sixties. Band's image is definitely spooky although their songs are mostly instrumental.
"A Haunting We Will Go-Go" is their debut. Released in 1998 by Zombie A Go-Go Records - short lived Rob Zombie's label. Sadly this album is now out of print.
