Dirtmusic is a project formed by Chris Brokaw (Codeine, Come), Chris Eckman (The Walkabouts, Chris & Carla) and Hugo Race (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Wreckery, Hugo Race & True Spirit). They play realy nice mixture of alt-country and folk with some touch of blues.

Their self titled debut album was released in 2007 by Glitterhouse. Lately they released "BKO" - collaboration with Tamikrest - group of Touareg musicians.

Shakin' Dudi is a project formed in 1984 by bluesman Ireneusz Dudek and punk musician Darek Dusza. Album "Złota płyta" ("Gold Album" in Polish) was released in 1985. Explosive rock nd roll with addition of blues, swing, jazz, rhytm and blues, rockabilly and lots of fun. Band was disbanded in 1986 but later ocassionaly reformed and recorded thre more albums.

Crime & the City Solution

Crime & the City Solution was formed in Sydney 1977 by Simon Bonney. After some line-up changes band split-up.
In 1985 Bonney reformed band in Berlin. Other musicians were: Mick Harvey, Rowland S. Howard (both from The Birthday Party), Howard's brother Harry and Epic Soundtracks. They recorded some EP's and great album "Room of Light".
Crime & the City Solution's played dark postpunk influenced by blues. It could be compared to best albums of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
In 1987 Howard brothers and Epic Soundtracks left band to play in These Immortal Souls. With new musicians band recorded three more albums: "Shine", "The Bride Ship" and "Paradise Discotheque".
Crime & the City Solution split-up in 1990. After that Bonney released two solo records.
Here you have nice gig from Gothenburg, Sweden. Band was in highest form. Howard's guitar is as always groundbreaking.

After Swans decayed, Michael Gira started solo career. It's mostly quiet folk/country songs. But don't get fooled: maybe this songs are quiet but they aren't soft or sweet. Gira doesn't mellow down. Sadness biterness - you have it all.
This is acoustic solo set from Gira. Intense as He always was. Not bad quality.

Don't Panic, We're From Poland!!! part 15 - Maciej Maleńczuk

Maciej Maleńczuk: born 14 August 1961, Polish musician and songwriter. Played on over 20 records. In 1981 Maleńczuk refused to serve in army as conscientious objector. He was sentenced for two years in prison. At this time he started to sings spirituals to make work easier. After that he was street musician to earn for living. Later he played with Pudelsi, his own band Homo Twist and recorded 5 solo albums.
"Piosenki z ulicy" were recorded in 1991 and issued only on MC. Songs are arranged on acoustic guitar and voice only. Basicaly it's blues with slightly mediterrenian influence. Besides his own song Maleńczuk recorded also two blues standards: "St. James Infirmary" and Robert Johnson's "Ramblin' On My Mind".
