Don't Panic, We're From Poland!!! part 38 - Lost Soul

Lost Soul was founded in 1991. After some demos and splits they released debut album "Scream of the Mourning Star" in 1999.
"Ubermensch (Death of God)" from 2002 is great death metal album. Heavy and fast with some syhths and dark intros. In 2003 it was released worldwide by Osmosis.
"Chaostream" from 2005 is their third and last album. Band appears to be dead, so next one shouldn't be expected.

Morbid / Mayhem "A Tribute to the Black Emperors"

This bootleg was released in 1997 and is dedicated to Dead and Euronymous from Mayhem.
Dead's first band was Morbid. With him on vocals they recorded demo "December Moon" in 1987. Later he left the band and joined Mayhem. 08.04.1991 he commited suicide. Euronymous took some photos of corpse (one of them was used on infamous cover of "Dawn of the Black Hearts") and made neclace from pieces of his skull. Mayhem's bassman Necrobutcher was displeased with this and left the band. He was replaced by Varg Vikernes (Count Grishnackh from Burzum). With him band recorded in 1993 their masterpiece "De Mysteriis Dom, Sathanas". Before release of album conflict between Varg and Euronymous started. 10.08.1993 Vikernes killed Euronymous.
First four tracks are Morbid's part. It's their demo "December Moon" from 1987. Among members were Uffe Cederlund and LG Petrov (both lated played in Nihilist and later Entombed).
Mayhem's part is a little compilation. Track 6 "Necrolust" is from great demo "Deathcrush", recorded in 1987 before Dead joined the band. Track 7 "Funeral Fog" is from "Live in Leipzig", recorded in 1990. Tracks 5 and 6: "Freezing Moon" and "Carnage" were recorded in 1990. They are Mayhem's only studio recordings with Dead.

Necrovore "Divus De Mortuus"

Necrovore was death metal band from Texas. They formed in 1986 so they were one of the earliest bands in the genre. Sadly band recorded only one demo - legendary "Divus De Mortuus" in 1987.
Unfortunately no label was interested in releasing their full time lp. Band dissolved in 1990.
Necrovore reformed some years ago, in original line-up. Album with their song from eighties was announced by to this day they did't released anything.
Now you can enjoy their only release: "Divus De Mortuus". Sound is little rough, but it's excellent stuff - one of the finest death metal demos. Inj my opinion it's better than Morbid Angel demos. Give it a try.

Don't Panic, We're From Poland!!! part 22 - Pandemonium

Pandemonium started in 1989 by Paul (guitar) and Żuber (drums). Music was in the vein of Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, Bathory and Samael. Band's first effort was promo tape, recorded at rehearsal in december 1990.
In february 1992 Pandemonium recorded demo tape - legendary "Devilri". It was best selling demo tape in the world. They sold over 10000 pieces! First proper album "The Ancient Catatonia" was recorded in 1993. After that band was forced to change name (Żuber was kicked from band and copyrighted name Pandemonium - pretty neat for a drummer, huh?).
Under name Domain, band recorded three albums: "Pandemonium [1995], "...From Oblivion" [1999] and "Gat Etemmi" [2002]. After Żuber's death, band returned to their original name Pandemonium. Under new/old name two albums were recorded: "The Zonei" [2004] and "Hellspawn" [2007].
Sound of this tape is little rough but also dark and powerful. Excellent stuff. Track 3 is of course cover of Samael - great version of "Into the Pentagram".

Don't Panic, We're From Poland!!! part 18 - Sparagmos

Sparagmos was formed in Warszawa, Poland in 1989. In the beginning they played rather traditional thrash metal. Later they music became more difficult and progressive, but still heavy.
Their last album "Conflict", was recorded in 1999. It's great but underestimated record. Even in Poland it didn't get deserved attention. "Conflict" is technical, hard and aggressive. And cover is just splendid.
Alas Sparagmos split-up shortly after release of "Conflict". Two of the members later formed interesting avantgarde grindcore band Antigama.

Don't Panic, We're From Poland!!! part 12 - Behemoth

Behemoth is well known death/black metal band from Gdańsk, Poland. Band was established in 1991 as black metal act. Since that day band slowly evolved. Now they play death metal with black influences.
Those tracks were recorded in Toulouse, France in 1999 when Behemoth was promoting their third album "Pandemonic Incantations". On that tour they supported Deicide.
Most of the songs are from "Pandemonic Incantations", only one "From the Pagan Wastelands" is from debut "Sventevith - Storming Near the Baltic".
