Don't Panic, We're From Poland!!! part 6 - Spear

Rainer Maria Rilke "For beauty is nothing but the beginning of terror"
I don't know much about Spear but it's great musick. This album was released in 1998 by legendary Polish label Obuh records. Spear's songs are hypnotic and beautiful, on the edge between dream and reality. I would call this music esoteric trip hop.
Spear is sharp but will not hurt you, only tease your neurons.

The Firstborn Is Dead

Concert from "The Firstborn is Dead" era. Funny thing - due to the complications this album was released after the tour. Because Blixa Bargeld was recording "Halber Mensch" at this time, Rowland S. Howard replaced him for few gigs. Howard was recruited just one day before the tour! Cover of "Wild World" is almost The Birthday Party reunion.

Brygada Kryzys was founded in 1981 by Robert Brylewski (previously Kryzys, later Izrael, Armia, Falarek and hundreds of other bands and projects) and Tomasz Lipiński (previously Tilt, later Tilt). First album "Brygada Kryzys" was recorded in 1982. Due to the problems with censorship and authorities band was dissolved in the same year. This is music to march to

- Wenn ist das Nunstruck git und lotermeyer?
- Ja! Beiherhund das Oder
- die Flipperwaldt gersput!

Very powerful joke, isn't it? Almost as powerful as Killing Joke's music. Trance and heavy post punk. Tribal-like rhythms with hypnotic guitar riffs on top. Killing Joke's music was always imitated but never replicated. Only permanent members in this band are Jaz Coleman and Geordie Walker.
Coleman is classically trained musician and occultist. He has composed not only rock songs but also orchestral pieces, Very weird man. In 1982 he moved to Iceland to escape Apocalypse! And in October 2006 Coleman became composer in residence for the European Union. Not very usual.
This concert was recorded 20.05.1989 in Lyon, France, shortly after band's reactivation. One year before they released great album "Extremities, Dirt & Various Repressed Emotions". Line-up is:
Jaz Coleman - vocals
Geordie Walker - guitars
John Bechdel - keyboards
Paul Raven - bass
Martin Atkins - drums

And now is something for people that doesn't know german:
Der ver zwei peanuts, valking down der strasse, and von vas... assaulted! Peanut!
