Lydia Lunch & Rowland S. Howard 26.11.1991 Ghent

Shotgun Wedding today. Lydia Lunch started this project with Rowland S. Howard in early 1991 under name Gashouse. First (and only) album "Shotgun Wedding" was released in november of that year. Band played european tour in november and december of 1991. During that tour band's line-up was: Lydia Lunch (vocals), Rowland S.Howard (guitar), Link Benka (rhythm guitar), Harry Howard (bass) and Jim Sclavunos (drums).

Don't Panic, We're From Poland!!! part 71 - Krzysztof Komeda

Those tracks were recorded in october and november of 1967 for Polish Radio. It was Komeda's last jazz session. Later he composed only music for Polanski's "Rosemary's Baby" and Kulik's "Riot".
"Ballad for Bernt" is piece written for Polanski's "Knife in the Water" soundtrack. It's dedicated to swedish saxophonist Bernt Rosengren. "Don Kichot", "Po katastrofie" and "Czarownica" were written for the jazz and poetry record "Meine Susse Europaische Heimat" released in Germany. "Nightime, Daytime Requiem" is dedicated to the memory of John Coltrane, and was composed in response to the news of his death.

Cabaret Voltaire 25.10.1980 Berkeley

Cabaret Voltaire was established in 1973 by Richard H. Kirk, Stephen Mallinder and Chris Watson. They started as industrian outfit influenced by dada movement, Burroughs and Gysin. Their first EP "Extended Play" was released in 1978. Band's music evolved into more danceable sounds. Chris Watson left the group in October 1981 to form The Hafler Trio. Later Cabaret Voltaire started experimenting with electro and pop. Band broke up in 1994.

Quite famous synthpop band. It's their set from 1996 Quart Festival. Paul Barker was still in the band and they were listenable. Black Sabbath's cover "Supernaut" was played with guest guitarist - Dino Cazares from Fear Factory. And fuck the police.

Don't Panic, We're From Poland!!! part 69 - Kobong

Kobong was formed in 1994 by Robert Sadowski (guitar), Maciej Miechowicz (guitar), Bogdan Kondracki (bass, vocals) and Wojciech Szymański (drums). Band played excellent progressive metal - hard and technical. Heavy riffs, grinding bass and tribal-like drums.
In 1995 they released great album "Kobong". Two years later even better "Chmury nie było". Band split-up in 1998. All members (except of Robert Sadowski) started in 2001 new band Neuma. Szymański and Kondracki also played in Nyia.

Don't Panic, We're From Poland!!! part 68 - Krzysztof Komeda

Krzysztof Komeda (27.04.1931 – 23.04.1969, born under name Krzysztof Trzciński) was polish jazz pianist and film music composer. He studied and worked as otolaryngologist. In fifties He started to play jazz. Because then jazz wasn't well perceived in Poland, during that time he started to use pseudonym Krzysztof Komeda.
In sixties he played in many europena countries. He also started to wrote music for films. Most famous are his compositions for Polanski's movies: "Knife in the Water", "Fearless Vampire Killers" and "Rosemary's Baby".
He died in Poland as a result of wrong treatment of haematoma.
"Astigmatic" is his best album. Recorded 5-7 december 1965 and released in 1966. Komeda's band was at this point was: Krzysztof Komeda (piano), Rune Carlson (drums), Gunter Lenz (double bass), Zbigniew Namysłowski (alto saxophone), Tomasz Stańko (trumpet).

Hugo Race 20.03.1996 VPRO session

Hugo Race is an australian punk blues musician. In 1983-84 He was a part of Nick Cave's The Bad Seeds. Later formed with Nick Barker and Robin Casinader great band The Wreckery. Since 1989 he plays with group The True Spirit. Under that name he recorded over dozen albums. He also plays also in such projects as Sepiatone, Transfargo, Merola Matrix and Dirtmusic.
This is short acoustic set played for dutch radio VPRO. It was 1996 and Hugo was promoting his sixth album "Valley of Light". Four tracks and interview.
